GORDON Dick has been appointed business development manager at machinery maintenance specialist United Plant Services (UPS).
Gordon started his career with Bardon (Aggregate Industries UK Ltd) where he served in a variety of roles before joining Lafarge Tarmac as operations manager in 2014 and then Babcock International as area business manager.
“The machine maintenance sector is constantly evolving and has changed significantly since I started working in the quarrying industry nearly 20 years ago,” Gordon explained. “The choice now on offer to fleet managers when it comes to maintenance and servicing is a lot wider, enabling them to choose the most appropriate contract for their business and machines.
“It is this bespoke service which is at the core of the UPS ethos and one of the many aspects of its business which attracted me to the role. Its continued dedication to deliver the highest standard of mobile plant maintenance, regardless of brand or location, also really appealed to me.
“I am very much looking forward to taking on this new role, as I firmly believe that with our collective industry experience, UPS is uniquely placed to provide bespoke and specific scheduled and routine maintenance to our customers, wherever they are and whatever machines they own.”
Mark Cooper, MD of United Plant Services, added, “UPS continues to go from strength to strength, but there are still many more opportunities out there and potential for further internal developments – this is where Gordon comes in.
“His experience of the industry through various roles has given him a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to knowing what is best for individual customers. We are delighted to welcome him to team and are extremely excited about what the future holds.”
