MOTHERWELL-based Terex Trucks has been awarded a top innovation prize for its ‘workplace experience’ factory design.
The manufacturer of rigid and articulated trucks collected the ‘Most Innovative Communication’ award at the annual Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC) Scotland Awards 2017. Created by Studio LR, Terex Trucks said the new design has “transformed” the Motherwell facility into an “inspiring brand experience” for staff and visitors.
Using quirky imagery and slogans, Terex Trucks added that it “honours the scale of the trucks and shines a spotlight on the people that make them, as the heroes of the brand”. Components from the trucks have been included as part of the experience, including seats from the truck cabins being used to create a waiting area in the reception.
Paul Douglas, director and general manager of Terex Trucks said, “It’s fantastic to see the workplace experience receive recognition on this level. Studio LR did a fantastic job and we are thrilled with the result. The new factory design motivates and inspires the team, builds up our employees’ sense of purpose and engages visitors with humour and confidence.”
