A&Y Equipment will use next month’s Executive Hire Show to launch two new models into the UK market – the Yanmar ViO12 zero tail swing mini-excavator and the Ammann ATR30, a 29kg rammer.
The ViO12 has an operating weight of 1235 kg and the “longest undercarriage in its class” at 1440 mm. A&Y said the extendable undercarriage from 830 mm to 1000 mm gives the machine “excellent stability”.
Yanmar is using variable axial piston pumps on the machine, which adapt the flow and the pressure to the load. This, the firm added, makes for improved operator comfort and a smoother operation.
A&Y said the pump flow and its high working pressure also improve working speeds. This excavator differs from the SV08 in weight, tail-swing and also the operating controls. The machine features joysticks on both sides of the seat.
Other features include a Yanmar 3TNV engine and a large opening maintenance hood.
As far as the ATR 30 rammer is concerned, A&Y said it can be handled “very easily”, especially in trenches and pipe work.
“Despite the lightweight design this model will still give strong compaction forces, through its 130mm shoe and a 4 stroke, Honda GX35 engine,” the firm said. “Bearing in mind the manual handling risks in lifting and loading heavier rammers and plates, this is seen to have much potential and finds a real niche in the market.”
