A-Plant has announced it has achieved gold status from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).
The accreditation covers the hire firm’s service centre network in the south of England and was awarded after the company “actively demonstrated its commitment to vehicle safety and efficiency”.
Shaun Winstanley, A-Plant’s director of transport services explained, “To achieve FORS gold status in the south is a great achievement. It not only demonstrates to our employees that we are investing further in their safety and improving their skill-set, but it also assures customers that they are dealing with a professional, trusted company which takes compliance, safety and the environment seriously.
“As we are a Whole Fleet Accredited (WFA) company FORS has driven consistency across all locations as well as improving driver knowledge – especially the Safe Urban Driving course that we carried out. We’ve seen a tangible benefit from this as last year we had an 18% improvement in vehicle incident or collision frequency.”
FORS is a voluntary scheme covering all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, economical operations and vehicle emissions.
A-Plant said it is now working towards achieving the gold standard for all of its UK locations.
