ACCORDING to Bell Equipment, the design of the firm’s new all-weather B60E was inspired by the original B60D concept vehicle.
That particular model proved itself a worthy successor to the to the rigid earthmoving machines available a few years ago.
The B60E, featuring a Mercedes Benz engine, is described by Bell as ‘the next generation’ with its 4×4 full articulation steering and oscillation joint reportedly providing “more off-road capability than any other conventional rigid truck”.
Speaking in the aftermath of the Hillhead exhibition, Nick Learoyd, managing director of Bell Equipment, explained, “Our E-series vehicles, particularly the B60E, have been a huge show-stand hit this year, with sales of both brand new and reconditioned models being secured during the exhibition.
“Customers have demonstrated enthusiasm for, and confidence in, our machines – which with the proven legacy of our successful D-series behind them promise increased production payloads, lower operating costs, uncompromised safety and a superior operator experience within the plant environment.”
Bell said the B60E can perform well even in adverse weather conditions thanks to its “all wheel traction, tighter turning circle and ability to negotiate steeper ramps delivering significant advantages over rigid truck competition”.
