Kubota UK has donated its special edition ‘Gold Digger’ to The Lighthouse Club charity, where it will be auctioned off.

The gold painted Kubota KX-71 mini excavator, which appeared at this year’s ScotPlant, was produced to mark the firm’s 50,000th excavator sale in the UK and Ireland.

The machine will feature at The Lighthouse Club’s 60th Anniversary Summer Ball, taking place at the Honourable Artillery Company, London, on July 9.

Dave Roberts, managing director at Kubota UK, explained, “The Lighthouse Club carry out fantastic work to not only ensure the construction industry is a safe working environment, but also providing valuable support to people who are suffering stress and hardship as a consequence of injury, illness or bereavement.

“We are very pleased to be working closely with The Lighthouse Club and donate our ‘Gold Digger’ to the charity. We hope the auction is able to raise a significant amount of money for this worthy cause at what I’m sure will be a great anniversary event.”

Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Club, said, “We are very excited to have the Kubota ‘Gold Digger’ as our number one auction lot and I’m sure the piece of machinery will attract a lot of attention. Our 60th Anniversary Summer Ball is being held in conjunction with the Construction Plant-hire Association 75th anniversary, which should make for a memorable event.”
