PETER Brown is leaving the CITB to join the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) as technical development manager.
He will take up the newly-created post on April 4. The CPA said Peter has gained experience working in a wide range of roles including training development, education, and skills certification. He was also responsible for setting the standard for the construction and allied sectors within his role at CITB.
As CPCS Product Manager at CITB, Peter managed and developed products and services for the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS). He started his career in the construction sector as an apprentice before becoming a full time research and development experimental technician. He is also an experienced operator and demonstrator of plant and machinery.
CPA Chief Executive Colin Wood said, “I am pleased to welcome Peter to the CPA fold. Many of our members have known Peter for many years and are aware of his skills and experience. I believe that Peter will be a great asset to both the Members and staff at CPA.”
Peter said, “It’s a real privilege to be joining such a well-respected and established organisation. The CPA plays a pivotal role within the plant hire sector and I am very much looking forward to being a part of that, by supporting the association and its Members, by utilizing my skills and experience, with my long association with technical support and training development.”
Peter’s new role will involve supporting CPA and its members with technical development which will include involvement in the Strategic Forum Plant Safety Group, special interest groups, training and competency strategies and also liaising with government bodies.
