Gordon Liney has been named commercial director for Breedon Aggregates’ Scottish business.
Reporting to Breedon Scotland chief executive Alan Mackenzie, Gordon will be responsible for the overall commercial direction of Breedon’s quarrying operations north of the border and will also provide commercial support to Breedon Scotland’s Contracting Director.
Alan Mackenzie said, “Gordon takes up a key new role in our senior leadership team in Scotland. He will initially be reviewing our sales systems, regional account management and key account management, as part of a wide-ranging review of the Group’s sales systems. He will assume responsibility for our decorative aggregates portfolio and for developing our strategy for high ‘polished stone value’ (PSV) aggregates, the specialist stone with high skid resistance which is in great demand for surfacing roads with high traffic flows. In addition, he will provide strategic commercial input on a number of major projects, including the dualling of the A9, the new Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route and offshore and onshore wind projects throughout Scotland.”
Gordon has more than 30 years’ experience in the building materials industry, gained with Lafarge Tarmac, where he held a number of sales, commercial and general management roles. Most recently, he was major projects manager for the North of England & Scotland and general manager of Tarmac Caledonian in the north of Scotland.
Gordon lives in Perth and is married with three daughters.
