Witney Plant Hire Ltd has expanded their fleet of Bobcat compact tracked loaders with the purchase of three new models from Promac Solutions Limited. Faced with increasing demand from in growth markets including solar power installation, the family-run, Oxforsdshire based plant and tool hire business added the T590, T650 and T770 models to their existing lineup.

David Johns, Managing Director of Witney Plant Hire, said: “We originally purchased Bobcat compact tracked loaders for use by contractors carrying out planing and road repair work, where the very low ground pressure minimises their effect on the surfaces and the environment and simplifies reinstatement work. We are still very active in this market as several of our customers swear by the Bobcat tracked machines for this type of work.”

Fitted with a range of attachments including Bobcat planers, sweepers and trenchers, Bobcat tracked loaders from Witney Plant Hire perform road and pavement surface repair services.

Johns continued: “The market for Bobcat tracked loaders has been boosted with the growth of solar farms in the UK. Contractors are carrying out this work in rural locations across the country, where the low ground pressure of the Bobcat loaders is obviously key to this application.”

The new Bobcat models have a dedicated tracked undercarriage to provide superior tractions and low ground pressure for operation on muddy ground, uneven terrain and sand. Low ground pressure is also ideal for operations in which soil compaction and ground disturbance should be minimised.

David Johns added: “The compactness of the new loaders is particularly suited to solar farm work as the Bobcat loaders can easily travel between the tightly packed rows of solar panels, which would be impassable with larger machines. The compactness of the loaders is also key to meeting safety regulations such as the 2.4 m non-encroachment limit when working near to overhead power-lines and other electrical installations.

“Backed by the excellent support provided by Promac, there has always been plenty of work for our Bobcat compact tracked loaders. I am excited about further work in planing using the new T590 loaders because of the narrow track design which simplifies work close to pavement edges. I am also keen to expand in the market for more specialist laser flooring screed work and treatment beds at sewage plants with our Bobcat T770 laser grader system.”

Specialising in plant and tool hire throughout Oxfordshire and South West England, Witney Plant Hire offer a wide range of equipment for hire with delibery to counties including Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire and surrounding countries.

The Bobcat T590, T650 and T770 offer a range of new features including a forward-positioned, high comfort cab that moves the operator closer to the attachment. The cab door threshold has been lowered with the overall door surface increased by more than 40% to provide improved forward, top, side and rear window visibility.
