ONE of Scotland’s longest standing Kubota hire specialists has strengthened its stock of the orange liveried machines with the signing of a new supply deal with Young Plant & Equipment Sales.

Jarvie Plant has taken delivery of 50 new Kubota mini-excavators, continuing its long-standing relationship with Kubota and Young Plant. “Young Plant Sales have been supplying new machines to Jarvie Plant Ltd from our very earliest days, 36 years ago,” explained Brian Young, Managing Director of Young Plant & Equipment Sales.

“Jarvie Plant has been a very loyal customer to our business and we greatly appreciate the orders we have won over the years and trust that it has been mutually beneficial. Having dealt in the early years with John Jarvie’s father (also John), we are now delighted to be quoting David, who represents the third generation of the Jarvie family.  It is always pleasing to work with a business like Jarvie Plant, which shares the same traditional family values that we do.”

Jarvie Plant Ltd was amongst the first Scottish fleet owners to adopt the mini-excavator concept and have run Kubota machines as their first choice since day one, with Kubota still making up the majority of its fleet today.

David Jarvie, Business Development Director for Jarvie Plant Ltd commented, “The investment in 50 machines this year has helped us to grow our depot network across Scotland, resulting in the opening of our Dundee depot earlier this year and one in Aberdeen in early 2015 as demand for machines in the north continues to grow.”

The latest Kubota models to hit the Jarvie Plant forecourt as part of the deal includes the KX015-4, KX61-3, KX71-3, U27-4, U48-4 and KX057-4, with David noting an increase in demand for the six and eight tonne excavators, prompted by the upswing in the house building market in the last 12 months.

“The mini-excavator’s compact design makes them the ideal choice for house building and for carrying out a range landscaping duties, so sales have been strong this year. Machine reliability is a key factor in the hire industry, for both our customers and our internal maintenance teams, and with Kubota we’re guaranteed total reliability and powerful performance; a combination our customers demand.”

Brian Young added, “Whilst we would love to say that this latest deal is purely down to the great relationship we enjoy with Jarvie Plant and the back-up service we provide, we have to admit that the great performance, reliability and residual value of the Kubota product has contributed a great deal to the continuation of this relationship.”
