GLASGOW-based piling and foundation contractor Van Elle Ltd has made further significant investments in plant and equipment to keep pace with their expansion plans.

“We forecast an increase in construction activity 18 months ago and planned accordingly, investing heavily in new plant and equipment to cope with our ever increasing workload,” said Deputy Group MD Vic Handley. “These further investments include a new Casagrande C6 drilling rig, two Soilmec SF50 and SR30 piling rigs and an additional new state of the art Volvo FH12 transport vehicle.
“This brings our total investment including our new manufacturing facility in Kirkby in Ashfield to nearly £10 million in the past year. Our focus now is on controlled growth to expand our various divisions and techniques across all sectors of construction, especially rail, infrastructure and housing.
“We are confident we will achieve a further 25% increase in turnover and profits this financial year and are already ahead of our five-year plan forecast which was updated last year.”
Apart from their new offices and manufacturing facilities in Kirkby in Ashfield officially opened by Gloria De Piero MP in June, Van Elle also expect to open a new manufacturing plant in Scotland.
