Sapphire firm still sparkles

TO coincide with GAP’s Sapphire Anniversary, celebrating 45 years of successful trading, the Glasgow-based firm has purchased another 400 Atlas Copco compressors.

The order, made up of one and two tool compressors and heavier duty industry compressors, will be delivered throughout this year. The range includes the XAS 47, 67, 137 and 186 some with generator variants and hard hat canopies.
In order to celebrate, GAP’s suppliers have painted a selection of their plant in sapphire blue – the 45th Anniversary theme. An Atlas Copco XAS 47 DDG compressor generator has been painted the colour and will be used on various sites around the country.
GAP has come a long way since Gordon Anderson opened the first depot in Linwood, next to Glasgow Airport. The hirer has grown from strength to strength and now operates as a national equipment hirer with almost 100 locations across the UK.
Ken Stewart, Group Procurement Manager at GAP, said, “I approached Atlas Copco for their support to help us celebrate our 45th Anniversary by producing a bespoke compressor painted sapphire blue – the 45th anniversary theme. The compressor was delivered in time for our annual conference and will be added to our collection of bespoke sapphire painted plant that will tour construction sites across the UK throughout the year.”John Fitzpatrick, Business Line Manager for Construction Tools and Portable Energy comments that, “Our market leading equipment and strong relationship with GAP has meant that we continue to be their sole supplier for compressors. We hope that our updated range and country-wide service back-up will allow the relationship to grow well into the future.”
