TEREX has announced a multi-million pound contract for site dumpers with Glasgow-based GAP Group.

The order, which comes as part of the equipment hirer’s aggressive capital investment programme, will include 400 one, three, six and nine-tonne Terex® site dumpers to be supplied throughout 2014.
The specialist power tip dumper units, manufactured at the Terex production site in Coventry, will help increase GAP’s fleet of construction equipment and will be put to work on a wide variety of high-profile construction projects.
Neal Nowick, General Manager of Terex Coventry, said, “To secure an order of this size is a real testament to the heritage, quality and future vision of our site dumper range.
“We’re absolutely delighted to announce this order, which marks the continuation of a long-standing and close relationship with GAP and its confidence in our ability to deliver reliable and cost-effective solutions for its national customer base.
“Over the past 12 years, we’ve worked closely with GAP to specify and manufacture its entire range of site dumpers, which are used by hundreds of construction companies across the country.
“This latest order furthers our excellent relationship and reflects a rising demand for hard-wearing and reliable equipment, designed and built in the UK, using innovative processes and proven designs.
“Robust and efficient, Terex® site dumpers are built to handle the most challenging conditions and demanding use, making them an ideal tool for the UK’s construction rental market.”
Ken Stewart, Group Procurement Manager at GAP, said, “We have always found Terex site dumpers to be reliable and robust workhorses with good residual values.
“We’re delighted to extend and further strengthen our long-term relationship with Terex.”
The GAP Group order is the latest announcement in a long line of successes for the Terex Coventry facility.
Earlier this year, Terex announced the creation of 50 new jobs at its factory in the West Midlands and recorded excellent sales figures for 2013.
The specialist manufacturing firm has also invested significantly into the development of new and innovative construction equipment, including backhoe loaders, site dumpers and heavy-duty rollers.
Boasting new technologies and updated user features, each of Terex’s units has been designed to exceed international equipment regulations and benefits from a long heritage of manufacturing excellence.
These updates further cement Terex’s position as a progressive construction equipment manufacturer, committed to investing in the future of its site, its products and its employees.
